Entrance and Exit Criteria

Entrance Criteria are the conditions/tasks that must be met before a specific test phase can be started, and Exit Criteria are the conditions/tasks that must be met before a test phase can be completed (or to move to the next test phase). Each set of criteria are developed during the planning stages, and agreed upon/signed off by all involved teams and stakeholders.

- Test Plan Approved/Signed Off by Project Manager/Sponsor
- All Test Scripts Created and Approved by Testing Manager
- Test Data Identified and Created
- Resources Scheduled/Available and Assignments Identified
- Test Environments Available and Test Software installed
Example of Exit Criteria conditions:
- All Test Scripts/Scenarios have been Executed
- Issues found during testing have been reported through the Defect Management Process
- All Critical/High Severity Issues have been Addressed and Closed
